Mexican hot choclate is a mixture of milk and chocolate. The difference between Mexican hot chocolate and American hot chocolate is the different kind of chocolate that is used. The chocolate used in Mexican beverages are made with a mixture of bitter chocolate, cinnamon and sugar. Café con leche is another Mexican hot beverage made of coffee, milk, sugar, and cinnamon. This beverage is usually enjoyed in the morning with your breakfast. Some of the cold beverages include horchata, agua de melón, tamarindo, and jamaica. Horchata is one the most popular Mexican drinks and is made of rice, water, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and milk.

Horchata is a milky looking beverage that tastes refreshingly great when served over a glass of ice. This drink is made of rice, cinnamon, water, milk, and vanilla extract. Usually horchata is homemade but now there is pre-mixed horchata powder that can be purchased from any local grocery store to make it a little simpler to enjoy this delicious beverage. Homemade horchata takes a little bit of effort to prepare but it is the best choice to make compared to this already pre-mixed powder.
